The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is issuing a challenge to Wichita cyclists: Bike for a world free of multiple sclerosis.

The Wichita-area Autumn Trails Classic Ride is Sept. 11-12, 2010 when cyclists will ride from Derby to Dexter to raise funds and awareness. The group held a kick-off party tonight in Old Town to get the community in gear for the event.

Money raised during the event supports local programs and services and research on a national level. The event creates a challenging, enjoyable ride for cyclists and a hope-filled experience for everyone affected by MS. The MS Society hopes to create a greater awareness of multiple sclerosis in the public at large.

The Autumn Trails Classic Ride includes a 50, 80 and 100 mile route, complete with rest stops, snacks and encouragement from volunteers.

More information about the ride can be found at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society website or by calling 316-263-7043.
