A recent visit to Moundridge Elementary School found the students excited as the school year draws to an end, but also because their school is the May winner of the KAKEland Reading Caravan Award.

"It was a perfect time because we've added fifth grade", Moundridge Elementary School Principal Joann Browne says. "We were a K-4, now we're going to be a K-5. And one of the concerns was if we are going to have (new) books because they've already read the books that are at their age level," she adds.

The librarian at the school, Pat Stucky, says this year is a particular concern because of budget cuts. "This is just a wonderful gift. We are looking for any funds that we can possible have. We are just so proud that you support libraries and education."

The students were all very energetic and had no problem showing it. We thank them for their love of reading, and congratulate Moundridge Elementary School as the May winner of the KAKEland Reading Caravan Award.
