Each year on St. Patrick's Day, KAKE TV helps sponsor the Blarney Breakfast to raise money for a good cause.
This year's Blarney Breakfast will benefit Rainbows United.
One of the children who will be helped by the fundraiser is Esmerelda Alvarado.
Esmerelda is 5 years old and suffers from cerebral palsy and low vision. She has outgrown the small walker she uses to take steps. Rainbows United plans to use proceeds from Wednesday's event to buy Esmerelda a stroller.
Esmerelda can only walk short distances without the walker before she becomes too tired and falls down.
She has been a client of Rainbows United since she was a baby. Her parents say it's frustrating to watch their daughter struggle with her old walker.
"That's when they brought up the idea of us getting her a stroller because of her growing and how it's really wearing out on us having to carry her everywhere," said Alejandro, Esmerelda's father.
This year's Blarney breakfast is this Wednesday morning at Old Chicago East. All of the proceeds go to Rainbows United to help special needs children.
