A theatrical production being presented Friday night at Fort Riley is billed as a new approach to helping soldiers and families cope with combat stress.
In the production, called Theater of War, actors give readings from ancient Greek plays about the trials of war and the emotional return home from battle.
Fort Riley is home to the Army's 1st Infantry Division, which has units deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The program is focused on family members and is followed by a panel discussion. The goal is to confront combat-related psychological injuries and connect soldiers and families with mental health resources.
