The wife of a Fort Riley soldier serving in Iraq has more than fulfilled his request to send blankets for his unit.
Cpl. Keith Dial told his wife, Misty, that the blanket she sent him kept disappearing after being borrowed by fellow soldiers. So he asked her for enough blankets for his entire unit of 135 men and women.
With help from Clay Center residents, Misty Dial collected more than enough blankets to fulfill the request. Residents gave money, made blankets and volunteered to help.
Dial is now in the process of packing the blankets and trying to get them shipped in time for Christmas.
