Tough Economy Takes Toll On Blood Donations

The new economy is taking a toll on retailers, banks and organizations that rely on donations, including the American Red Cross and their need for blood donations.

Health officials say layoffs are to blame, as the American Red Cross finds fewer donors when their bloodmobiles visit work sites.

Bloodmobiles account for 42% of donations for the Central Plains Region.

The Red Cross is looking for more businesses to drop in on.
