The Daughters of the American Revolution honors the Eagle Valley Raptor Center with the National "Conservationist" of the Year award.

The Newton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented the award and adopted one of the eagles at the Raptor Center.

June 20 is National Eagle Day and the American Legion and the Patriot Guard were on hand to help celebrate the award and honor the bird that is an American symbol.

The Eagle Valley Raptor Center has given homes to three eagles and it has rescued and provided rehabilitation for four injured eagles. The center was able to release those rehabbed birds back into the wild.

Eagle Valley Raptor Center takes in about 130 birds every year while educating the community about the importance of birds in the environment.
