The Mid-America All-Indian Center in Wichita is getting ready for a grand reopening later this month.
The center has been closed during renovations to comply with federal laws on access for the disabled. The improvements include upgrading the kitchen, making the upstairs more accessible and installing "green" lighting.
A free reopening celebration is scheduled for the evening of June 26.
The Mid-America All-Indian Center is a cultural center and museum that seeks to preserve American Indian heritage through education, classes, lectures and exhibits.
