Wichita Festivals, Inc., announced Thursday they have canceled the Johnathan Goodwin Green Vehicle Giveaway.

Wichitan Johnathan Goodwin "Going Green" car genius had partnered with Wichita Festivals, Inc. to overhaul a vehicle during the nine days of Riverfest. The overhauled vehicle was scheduled to be unveiled during the Festival?s
Block Party, Friday, May 16.

"This was a fun, new event that really supported our efforts to go green at this year's Festival, as well as tie into the overall theme of this year's artwork. We received 46 entries and unfortunately that is not enough to cover the parts needed for the conversion," said Janet Wright, President/CEO of Wichita Festivals, Inc.

The entry fee was $20.00 and included a Riverfest button. Monies received were to go to cover the cost of the parts, equipment, supplies, services, etc. needed for the conversion and any additional vehicle enhancements.

Wichita Festivals, Inc. will be refunding $15 of the registration fee to those that signed-up for the contest.

I think it's only $15 because they also got a button in the deal. It's really a 100% refund, unless they wanted to return the button.

Well, it sounds like another one of those things like the Wild West World did. Hopefully people in Kansas do not keep doing these kinds of things or else Kansas will have a bad name.

What a rip off!! You charge 20 bucks and then only give them back 15 of it! Sounds like highway robbery to me. At least those people that entered were trying to help the cause and now they're being taken advantage of!
