According to Mildred Williams the “force is still with her.” On August 31, the Wichita resident claimed a $10,000 top prize playing a $2 Triple Play instant scratch ticket. Williams was back again Tuesday at Lottery headquarters in Topeka to claim another $10,000 top prize. This time, she won a top prize playing a $2 Ruby Red Slingo instant scratch ticket.
“I can’t believe I won again!,” said Williams. “When I kept getting line after line on my ticket, I told my husband Michael, who was watching a football game, to come take a look at my ticket. When I had a Blackout on my ticket, I was shocked. We gave each other a big hug and yelled, ‘Yes!’”
The $2 Slingo instant game is played like Bingo. By revealing a Blackout on her winning ticket, Williams won a $10,000 top prize.
“I know winning $10,000 twice in such a short time isn’t normal, but I’ll take it,” said Williams. “Maybe I’ll be back again to claim another big prize.”
Williams and her husband, who have been married 22 years, were undecided how they would spend their winnings.
“I like to have something to show for my money, so I’m sure we’ll put it to good use,” said Williams. “Last time I won, we bought a new computer and a few other things for our house. This time, I’m just not sure what we’ll do.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Food Mart 210, located at 10723 W. US Hwy. 54 in Wichita.
