Residents who need tree limbs picked up after last week’s storm should have the limbs at the curb no later than this evening.

Early Tuesday, City of Wichita public works crews will pick up tree limbs in neighborhoods hit hardest by Wednesday’s storm. Those neighborhoods are bounded by 31st Street South, Meridian and the south and east city limits. City crews will not make repeat trips after passing through a neighborhood

Tree limbs must be cut into four-foot lengths and placed at the curb. Crews will not pick up roof, fence, patio furniture or other materials, and will not sort tree limbs from piles with construction debris. Crews will not come onto private property to collect debris or take limbs longer than four feet.

It isn’t known when crews will be in a specific area, because it’s unclear how long cleanups will take.

Residents with substantial tree damage outside of the defined area should call 268-4013 if they need City assistance with tree debris. City officials will assess such requests as time allows.
