Kansas State Fair Hosts Preparedness Day

Thursday, September 9, 2010

"Be prepared" is more than the Boy Scout motto. It's the theme for a special day at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.

Officials with the Kansas Division of Emergency Management will host "Preparedness Day" at the fair on Monday.

Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, adjutant general and state director of emergency management, says the event is designed to inform Kansans about protecting lives and property.

Fairgoers will be able to pick up information about personal protection kits for homes and businesses, as well as resources for response and recovery after a disaster strikes.
