The $1,000 donation in honor of Deputy Etheridge is being made to benefit the local memorial being built at the corner of Main and Central.
Deputy Brian Etheridge was killed in an ambush attack on September 29, 2009 when he answered a call for service.
"Our entire community was affected when Brian was murdered. Everyone stepped up to help Brian's family and all of law enforcement cope with the tragic loss. This latest donation to the physical memorial will serve to ensure that Deputy Etheridge and the 28 other officers killed in the line of duty will never be forgotten," Sheriff Robert Hinshaw said.
Sheriff Hinshaw will accept the donation of $1,000 on behalf of the Law Enforcement Memorial of Sedgwick County. A check presentation ceremony will be held on August 19th.
