Since 2003, KAKE has presented more than 500 Golden Apple awards honoring teachers in KAKEland who are making a positive difference in our schools. This program gives local teachers community-wide recognition for the creative ways they support, motivate and encourage a lifetime of learning, in and out of the classroom.
Winners are featured every Monday night on KAKE News at 5 and receive the prestigious Golden Apple trophy from Davis-Moore, plus $1,000 worth of school supplies through Project Teacher! All the students in the classroom will receive a snack from Lane Enterprises McDonald's
Eligible nominees include Pre-K through 12th grade teachers in the KAKE-TV viewing area who inspire and motivate students to great heights in education. We’re looking for individuals who demonstrate creative teaching, develop programs for our youth and/or any other activities that add greater value to learning and/or have an exceptional attitude despite adversity.
To nominate a teacher who currently teaches Pre-K through grade 12, either print an official entry form and mail it to us or enter online.
