Okay....so it rained the whole Independence Day weekend.    ...a real bummer for Kansans who haven't  had a "rained out" Fourth in a long time.    I can remember ones when there were storms here and there,  but never a wash out.

So we all complained (me included).   After I went to the window the 10th time to see if any sun was peeking through,  I finally resolved myself to being indoors.  We cancelled our plans to meet friends at the lake .

   After that.,  a ray of sunshine ,in a different way , entered our home.    My daughters and I played cards!!!!  We watched TV together!!   We made a pasta salad TOGETHER!   We even went to a movie together.   Basically, outside of Sunday evening , we were together.   It turned out to be one of the best holiday weekends I have ever had.  

I usually go back to work on the Monday after the Holiday Weekend feeling like I hardly spent time with my kids.   Today I came to work thankful that the sun didn't shine.
