I don't think I have ever done this in a blog , or otherwise, but I have to brag about my 16 year old daughter. A few months ago, Senior Services of Wichita held a big fundraiser. It was a "roast " of Susan Peters. Basically, it was 10 well-known Wichitans taking turns at roasting me and everyone else . Around 500 attended...thats good because Senior Services made alot of money.
There was a "surprise " roaster that I did not know about. It was my 16 year old daughter, Nikki. Mind you, this is girl who very much dislikes getting up in front of people. She wouldn't be a news anchor when she grows up for anything....that's why I was so surprised that she even secretly agreed to roast her mom. But I was in complete SHOCK when she did get up there and had more poise than any 16 years old should have. Not only that....she was funny!!!! She was very funny!! I was so proud , I could barely contain myself. After the roast, it was clear from the comments, that Nikki was the star. In addition to that, she made her mommy cry. At the end of her little roast, she said..something to the effect of "Not only is Susan Peters my mom, she is also my best friend." What more could a Mother ask for??
I have attatched a video of only part of Nikkis "performance." (thats all we got recorded). This part that we got does however show her poise , sense of humor and her internal beauty and warmth. Thank you for being mine Nikki!!!
