My parents are visiting me in Wichita in a month and I'm trying to plan a mini “staycation” for us all. As I've traveled around Kansas for different stories, I've kept my eyes out for interesting places and attractions I can take them too.
I will definitely be taking them for a long drive out to Lucas. That place is incredible! I only saw one building (the public restroom) but even that was pretty interesting. I've told them we will be driving two-plus hours to see a giant toilet building and they seem pretty skeptical. I want to see the Garden of Eden and take a stroll through all the art galleries, and of course check out that toilet building one more time.
When I first moved here, we did a lot of the Wichita attractions: Cowtown, the zoo, and the IMAX theater.
Other than that, I am completely lost! They will be here for a week and I need ideas to keep them entertained. Sitting around my one room apartment with my cat apparently does not count as entertainment.
Any suggestions? What are some of the best places in Kansas to visit? I need your help.
