This is my absolute favorite time of year. I've been listening to Mariah Carey's “All I Want For Christmas Is You” on repeat for a week, I've got my tacky Christmas decorations out and on standby to be put up all around my apartment, and I'm already looking forward to going to home (hopefully!) sometime around Christmas to see my family.
For several years now, my family has had to celebrate Christmas Day on whatever day we can be together. First with my brother serving in the Navy and now with me reporting in places far, far away from home: it's been hard to get all the Allemans in one spot on Christmas. For me Christmas isn't always December 25th . It's whenever I'm surrounded by family.
The upside to not going home to Orlando, FL on Christmas Day is I might actually have a shot at seeing my first White Christmas! Here's hoping...
