So tell me--just how many people have been calling out sick in your workplace?

Here in the KAKE newsroom it seems everyone is getting sick--really sick. We're not talking mere sniffles and sneezes--but the full on flu.

All week we've been down three reporters and that's just the tail end of it.

So as you can imagine those of us who haven't yet caught it are knocking on wood and constantly washing our hands!!!

Does anyone have any good tips for how to ward off getting sick when everyone around you is falling ill?

I hope the crew is getting better over there. I am pleased to say that I am very thankful that I have not gotten the flu this year. I did get a flu shot and even though I don't work as I am retired, I still go out in the public. I feel for everyone that has that stuff. I just pray I don't get it.

this year for some reason nothing is helping anyone. i suggest mucinex for the chest congestion, and lots of rest. i am going on 3 months of this with no end in sight. i have also battled mono on top of it all. i am praying i do not get the flu. i disinfect, i use that alcohol stuff, i wash my hands..i just dont understand it. get gloves and a mask...seems that it is the only way to prevent it. i have even tried the elderberry and other treatments, so good luck to all of you fighting this.. i know i will be looking for your ideas on here!!! hope all of you at kake get to feeling better....
