We just ran a story about a triple fatal car crash near Wilson. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a pickup driver from Texas was going the wrong way on I-70. He hit a car head-on. The two people in the other car were from Wichita. Twenty-year-old Kylie Jobe and 22-year-old Kyle Thornburg died.
After we read this story I thought about the parents of these two young people and how TODAY has turned into the worst day of their lives. Being told their children had died. I can't even imagine the pain and I hope I never have to. I thought about how for most people it was just another Wednesday but, to them it's probably the longest day of their lives. The day that has changed their lives forever and it will never be the same.
One thing about my job- I have learned each day, even a typical Wednesday is a gift. Enjoy every second of it with your loved ones because you never know when things will change.
I hope these parents find some peace today.
