I covered Dr. George Tiller's funeral on Saturday.  I got out the the College Hill Methodist Church about 7:00am.  We did live shots through out our morning show along with KMBC in Kansas City.  Many media outlets were covering the funeral.  Wichita Police and US Marshals patrolled the streets.  Although Dr. Tiller's life work was controversial his funeral service remained peaceful.  I talked with several people attending the funeral who said they were very pleased the service was respectful and peaceful.  There were a few protesters, the majority were from the Fred Phelps Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka.  Authorities kept them about a block away so, they were barely seen from the Church.

Inside the service, Dr. Tiller's grown children talked about their father.  His oldest daughter said Dr. Tiller spent his last week of life at Disney World with his grandchildren.  She said the last words she said to him were "I love you and he said I love you", and Tiller walked out the door to be the usher and his church on that fateful day.   His wife sang "The Lord's Prayer" during the service.   It lasted about and hour and a half.

It doesn't matter what side you are on: Pro-Life or Pro-Choice..We are all just lucky to have another day.  So, I went home after the funeral and hugged my family and thanked God for one more day with them.
