Ok parents- lets talk!  Is your little one heading off to kindergarten this fall.  Will you need some tissue with you?  Are you planning on crying in your pillow for a few hours?  Yes, my little guy will start this fall but, I want to pass something on to you from my mom.  She has always said this to me about my kids growing up.

"Jemelle be thankful you can watch your son/daughter go to kindergarten or watch him graduate from preschool.  Be thankful he's healthy and alive to do this and that you are alive to see it."

Doesn't this make you think about everything.  Yes, some things are sad because you see their baby stages or their childhoods coming to an end but, how awesome is it to see them going to the next stage of their lives.  I think about this often!

Hope this helps all you moms and dads out there!!!

Have a great week!

for someone who knows what it feels like to know that i will never get to take my son to his first day of kindergarten because he passed away in may of 07 from sids, i say cherish every moment of it, take lots of pictures and dont ever forget. Love your children unconditionally because you never know when god will call them back home.

A crier for sure but not in front of her. Ha! I have a daughter going this fall. I am so excited for her. It's the begining of her next 12 years of up's and down's and learning about life. Your mom is right, life is too short. Hug your kids daily and take time to let them hug you back.

It has been 8 years since I sent my first off to kindergarten and I remember it like it was yesterday. I literally made myself sick worrying about her and was almost devasted when she got on the school bus for the first time without a care in the world! It is so awesome to see them grow to the next level of life. I am sure I will probably feel the same way when I send my son on his first day five years from now!!
