Big 12 Tournament

Hello, everyone!

Last week my family and I went to the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City.  We had a blast although K-State got beat their first game.  It was fun watching the other teams including KU.  I ran into several KAKE viewers at the tournament.  Many of them were so curious about the details of the woman from Ness City who was stuck on the toilet for two years.  It's such a strange and sad story.  It's interesting out of all the stories we do, it's usually those that get the most attention.  Some people wanted me to call back to KAKE and find out the latest details during the games. Just wanted to get your comments about the attention and interest in this story.

Take Care everyone!!! Have a great week!

Jemelle

Go KU! Jemelle, if you go to any more basketball games, wear a hat and sunglasses so nobody will recognize you and ask about the toilet news story. The toilet story is really getting bizarre now that the man has recently been charged with "alleged lewd and lascivious behavior" for exposing himself to a neighbor girl and her friends. Gross!

What an awful situation and I am sure very embarrassing for the woman. From the interview on t.v. with the boyfriend, he sounded like he really was concerned and cared but I don't understand why it took 2 years for him to get her the help. I am not surprised that people wanted more details about the story but I think it was unfair and tacky of them wanting you to call back to the station to get the information when you were on your time with your family.

It is a sad story and very strange indeed. I feel sorry for the poor woman. As for her "boyfriend/caretaker" perhaps he's not the smartest man in the world, but I don't think he intended to intentionally do her harm and maybe even thought that he was helping her. I don't know all of the specifics though. What I wonder about is why did she sit on the toliet and not in a more comfy chair, say the recliner or couch. That's what I would have done :-)

When I first heard on KAKE about the woman on the toilet in her boyfriend's bathroom for 2 years, it was very embarrassing. It is so odd like it should be in Ripley's Believe It or Not. This is not a story that reflects very good on our state. Hoping either the KU or KSU team wins the NCAA Basketball Championship. Now that would be good news for Kansas!

Posted by: Jon Well, I don't know all the facts involved in the case, but it does raise some doubts in the women's boyfriend and seems to appear to be care taker should have done more to prevent it to happen. The story is so far out from left field that it can't help to stick in the minds of your viewers. Regular news from day to day doesn't stick in peoples mind. Glad you had fun at the tournament!
