I was wondering, my brother was in a accident 4 years ago,and is parlyzed. They have 3 kids that have healthwave but there is not a doctor out there that takes that it seems like, they have to be under one yrs old or they are full this is not good the doctors that say they take it my sister calls and they are full. She has to take them to the er to get anywhere. Her social worker will not help her and barely returns her calls, I dont think this is right and she needs help. For people that are not abusing the system they cant get the help they need. If they have anymore income my brother may lose his insurance. So my sis does not work they live on his disability, (not much)Im sorry if this is not making alot of sense,it just seems like people that need the help cant get it. I dont no if you can find anything out or even help. And that is the short story. Thanks Tara

I have an infant car seat that is past the 5 years old and I don't want to throw it in the landfill. Is there any where that recycles them. Thanks, Michelle

Jemelle, the info about children and online predators is useful. If anyone wants to view the video again, go here: http://www.kake.com/home/headlines/16950006.html?source=enews&c=y

The Mommy Monday was great again! Thanks for the tips on how to decide if your child is ready to start school. Age is not the best way to decide. For people who missed the segment, is it at kake.com? Here is a webpage that has some info on deciding if your child is ready for Kindergarten. http://parentcenter.babycenter.com/0_kindergarten-readiness-is-your-child-ready-for-school_67232.pc#section2

I know this is probably not a big problem, but as a single mom of a 2 yr old. What do you do when the father has joint custody but is into drugs and other bad things that are not good for the child. What can you do to avoid the father from having this around the child. I dont want her to lose her father, but then again I dont want her to be around this and i dont want to get in trouble with the divorce papers that states he has visitation. What do you suggest i do?

Jemelle, that was a very informative website you mentioned at babycenter.com and I liked the section called Poppy seed to pumpkin:How big is your baby? There are photos of produce that let you know how big baby is getting. Grape is real easy, but rutabaga was one I never saw before. haha http://www.babycenter.com/slideshow-baby-size

Jemelle, in a future segment, please talk about the "Choking Game" and the dangers of it. I know KAKE has done a story on this in the past, but sometimes parents need to be reminded, especially of the warning signs. Thank you.

Hello everyone, My son was also bullied in grade school. My question is why do the schools let this continue. We tried everything we could for him and eventually had to move him to another school where the "no bully" policy is always strictly enforced. I wish the best to the "stuggling mom in winfield", and to Jamelle, Mike, and Ben,thank you for having coffee with me every morning!

To the mom in Winfield....I'm praying for you and your family. It breaks my heart to know that kids are so cruel, it's so superficial with kids and somehow as parents and peers we need to teach our kids that it's not what's on the outside that counts, it's the inside. We are all God's children and we seem to forget that he made all of us regardless of our size, color, etc. As a parent of 2 boys, I am trying to instill those qualities into them. The Lord is good; for His mercy, tender kindness and steadfast love endures forever. Jeremiah 33:11

Jemelle~ I just saw your segment this morning about the post I sent in regarding my 12yr. old son being bullied. When I saw what the segment was about I called my son in to watch and hopefully it helped...although I of course didn't mention that I was the one who sent it to you...that will be my little secret. I just want to say THANKS for feeling this was an important enough issue to use and I hope that having him watch will help him while he works through this. Thanks again! Struggling Mom in Winfield

I have an 11 year old son whos hair is just past his shoulders. Our deal is as long as it is kept clean and out of his face it is his hair to do with as he chooses. I feel I will have alot of battles to fight as a parent and I need to decide which ones are important enought to put my foot down on. His hair has become part of his identity, yes I am the parent, however I like it and as long as he holds up his end of the deal whats the harm?

I read the comment from the salon owner that said to just let the boys grow their hair long. I could not disagree more. I am a teacher and it is not conducive to learning to have your hair grown over your eyes. As a mother YOU are in charge. For some reason parents seem to forget that. The impression your children make on others is not only a reflection on them but their parents as well. I think this is a battle you decide, when they pay their own bills then they decide.

Good advice about the long hair! Can't wait for next Monday. This is going to be a very informative segment every week. Jemelle, that was funny when Mike said grow your hair long while you have it! haha I also look forward to the Monday Makeover segment during the 5 pm news. I love the before and after photos. They always look better after their makeover. Have a nice week.

Thanks, Jemelle! I would like to know about giving children different kinds of candy. At what age are they ready for this? I am concerned about a choking hazzard. Also what age can a kid understand how to use chewing gum? Thanks.

Hi, Jemelle. I am interested to know when your new "Mommy Monday" segment will be shown. I know, on Monday! LOL What I mean is, do we have to watch GMK from 5 am to 7 am? haha If it is on GMK during the 5 to 6 am show, will it be repeated during the 6 to 7 am time slot? Could you please be a little more specific? Thank you! Good Luck with the new segment. :)

I'm not a new mother, my children are 12 and 8. My biggest concerns is bullying in schools. My 12 yr. is an overweight child who has been tormented for years and has tried very hard to turn the other cheeck but it is taking it's toll on him, the school won't help because they have to follow protocol and I understand that but where are the teachers and staff at his school. We have had some very tearful discussions on a regular basis and he has honestly told me he hates his life...I guess where I am going with this is that being a Mom comes with heartache, especially when you can't make it all better for them. I fear everyday that something bad will happen. He has become resentful and pessimistic towards other children and it is showing in his grades and his attitude, he currently is taking an antidepressant and anger management help, which he wouldn't have needed had these kids just not been so hateful. I just wonder how many other moms struggle with this.
