Oh my goodness! Congrats to you, hubby and family. I really need to catch up with your Momma. I know God will bring you another beautiful miracle. Again, congrats, and God's Peace friend...

i told my boss at 4 months because i knew from having two sick babys that i would possibly be sick with this one too and i was working a potentially dangerous job for a pregnant woman. I handled it the best i could, and would stay at work for as long as i could, I was sick for the first 6 months. And had to leave work to take shots once a week to keep myself pregnant. My boss was not understanding and fired me a week after my one year. Did not give me my weeks worth of vacation. I still had 2 months to go before the birth of my daughter and had no insurence. Thanks JSims

Jemelle, Congratulations on your expected arrival! When is your due date?

Hey Jemelle. I told your mom to pass on my congrats earlier, but I'm sending them to you again. I missed the announcement on the air, as I am in and out of the room in the mornings. I have to admit that I was NEVER sick my whole pregnancy, so can't give much insight there. I was curious if that is what happened to you the morning that Mike said you were "under the weather" so they sent you home. :-) At any rate, congrats, and I hope you feel better SOON!!! Would love to see you, the kids, and your baby bump next time you are in our neighborhood!

Congratulations Jemelle! I knew it! I was watching you that morning thinking hmm...I wonder if her and her husband are planning to have baby #3, then I looked at you and just knew it and then you announced it! When I had my #3 I was working and had a complicated pregnancy, they were good up to a point and then I could tell they were getting irritated with all the time off I needed. Luckily there are laws in place for that. I used my FMLA. I had to resign after he was born though, I just couldn't handle working all night and then trying to care for 3 kids in the daytime. I admire you being able to get up so early everyday and be so cheery! Again, Congrats!

Wow! I feel blessed to have been watching this morning when you finally told your viewers that #3 is on the way! Congratulations! I hope you have support from your employer and co-workers. When I adopted a baby back in 1972, I had to leave employment to raise my son (thank God my husband had a good job), but I realize it's not easy sometimes and depends on the industry you are in. Where I work now things are good for pregnant and adoptive parents.

Hi Jemelle,I just wanted to tell you congratulations!! I am really happy for you and your husband.

Hey, I wanted to respond to the message about the mother who adopted. That's awesome and congratulations and I truly believe you should get all the benefits expecting mothers recieve. I'm sorry you've had such a difficult time. Congrats on your family! I have a very dear friend who is looking into adoption and she's concerned about some of the issues you brought up. Thanks for blogging, Jemelle.

Hi Jemelle! I love watching you in the mornings! You are always so happy and give us the motivation to wake up and get going each morning. Now after reading these blogs I hadn't seen you make an announcement of a new baby yet, but I have missed the past few mornings due to work obligations. Are you pregnant now again? If so, congratulations! I had my son 5 days before my 39th birthday and he was born at 26 weeks so we spent 3 1/2 months in the NICU. He is a blessing to us! And he comes first in our lives, so work takes a distant backseat. I work in the healthcare industry so at least I could trim my schedule back to meet our needs. I just encourage you to be honest with your employer. By law, I believe you are entitled to the maternity leave. Take care!

I knew it the other day when you were going on about mashed potatoes at 5:30 a.m.! And then biscuits and gravy, which is ok for breakfast, but mashed potatoes?? I was right about the first pregnancy being a boy, wrong about the second one being twins, but this time I'm going with a girl.

I think gals who are PG have it easy compared to those of us who adopt. When I needed time off for appointments or had a horrible incident when an adoption abruptly fell through I had no sympathy from bosses or coworkers, male or female. I also didn't get paid maternity leave, like pg women at my company get. So I didn't have the same benefits as pg women when I took time off to bond with my child once the adoption was complete. Keep in mind that pg and birth expenses are covered by insurance, whereas adoption expenses are not. So if you are pg and in the workforce, count your blessings. You have many...a child on the way...laws and company policies which help you financially...and people around you mostly 'get' what you are going through since many have BTDT themselves. And Jamelle, if you are expecting, congrats! (If not you might want to clear that up!)

Oh my Goodness Jamelle! Congrats!!! Are you wanting a boy or a girl?

Posted by: Shawnna Location: wichita
I dont feel like most companies are accepting that women do get pg and do need time off just to be sick i worked for a local grocery and even though i wasnt pg i had to stand their for 8 hrs with a trash can nearby cause i was told if i didnt report to work that i would be fired so i honestly think we need some kind of law for the workers especially working moms and dads who need time off for sickness or even sick kids

So Jamelle are you trying to tell us #3 is on the way?
