I had an email from a viewer the other day who asked if people say funny things to me at the store and other public places. You bet!! I have to say, most people are so kind and sweet!!   Although, I have had some funny comments made to me.  Let me explain.  About five years ago I was reporting and I knocked on the door to do an interview with a neighbor in the area.  The woman came to the door and said " I know you, I watch you every day.  You're not near as fat as I thought you were."  Oh, my gosh my photographer and I just started dying laughing.  What do you say to that.. Ha Ha.. I said ok, well thanks I guess.  Ha Ha... Another person said to me at the store " You look a lot better in person than you do on TV'.  Is this a good thing or a bad thing-ha ha.. One day I was at the gym working out and I'll admit I looked pretty awful.  I had no make up on, big ole sweats and a baseball hat.  I had my headphones on and this man comes over and taps me on the shoulder.  I took my headphones off and he said "you look a lot better in the morning's when I'm watching you on TV".  Yikes.   Isn't this so funny!

Honestly though, most of the people I run into are so nice and I'm glad people feel so comfortable to just come up and gab!   I love living here because people are so great!   Have a great day!! Jemelle

Please pass this gargle mixture on to Mike U. It was suggested to me by my dentist. Mix one-third cup hydrogen peroxide with two-thirds cup Listerine or your mouthwash. In the past I have had lots of trouble with my voice and this gargle has worked better than any other suggested help. I use it year round now. It really will help your voice. I do not have voice troubles very often since using this mixture as a gargle. Hopefully it will help Mike too.

I am sure this isn't a funny comment but I want to voice my opinion. Recently I moved to Wichita and of course I turned on KAKE news in the morning. After watching it for 2 days I turned to another station. I do miss the news casts but what did tune me off was the references to the days of the week. i.e whoo hoo Friday etc.

my sister and I wonder if you wear a wig? Don't blame you if you do since you get up so early. Maybe you could get a new hairdo, easy to take care of and shorter. Just a thought. We think you would look real cute.

Didn't your husband work for the Wranglers? Did he move with them, or did he find another job?

Jemelle, what I like about you is that you are always genuine and come across as sincere. Haven't met you in public, but enjoy you Mon-Fri - and love "WhooHoo" Fridays!

I never have understood why but I think t.v. does make people look heavier than they actually are. I am just glad that when people see you out in the community that you have the great personality to be friendly and cheerful with them as some t.v. personalities are just not that way. It is fun to hear the different things people say to you when they actually see you in person.

I guess some people that see people from the media don't think of you as real people and think they can say anything to you.
