Well .. learning that KU lost to VCU while clutching the seat belt and avoiding death in a NYC taxi isn't the best way to begin a week long stay in the Big Apple following the Shocks. But, it is a nice consolation prize to look out my hotel window and see the Empire State building looking back at me. Kind of how the Shockers feel .. a nice consolation prize to be here in NYC, staying in a great hotel on Times Square, and playing in the most famous area in the world, Madison Square Garden. I know the Shockers and the fans would rather be in the Big Dance, but like coach Gregg Marshall said last week, how many teams are still playing basketball? .. I think it's 8, with all due respect to the CBI or CIT tournaments. Those don't count. Some would argue the NIT doesn't count. I understand, but for the Shockers, it counts for something. A chance to win another game and maybe build on a chance to Dance next season.
