I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I try to eat right and exercise. However, I do have some bad habits that I have tried and failed to conquer for most of my life. My worst habit, without a doubt, is biting my nails. I have been a nail biter for as long as I can remember. I have tried to quit, coming close on occasion. But as my high school football coach always said, "Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades."
My bad habit is so bad, I don't even know when I'm doing it. I hate biting my nails. First of all, it's gross. Sometimes I'm not always sure where my hands have been, so putting the tips of my fingers between my teeth could be a case of Shigellosis just waiting to happen.
Other than chewing and gnawing the tips of my nails into bloody pulp, I really don't have any other bad habits. Sometimes I use "colorful" language on occasion. Not proud of it, but growing up playing sports, it's just something that sneaks out from time to time. Like when I realize I'm biting my nails. A bad word usually slips out in disgust of my bad habit. It's a vicious circle.
