There are two things in life that I don't understand how to fix when broken… cars and computers. I know how to do the basic everyday fixer-uppers… like if the computer crashes, shut it off and restart it. Nine times out of ten, that works. Easy fix! Or if you have a flat tire, I know who to call or where you go to get the oil changed.
This past week started with my laptop computer crashing. Now, this laptop has been a large part of my life since high school, so as upset as I was that I would be losing everything on it, I was just proud to say that my laptop had lasted so many years. It was time to get a new one. We do so much behind the scenes work on laptops here in the WeatherPlex, it was a bit of an inconvenience for a few days, to say the least. Not being connected to my email was probably the hardest. But no worries… I could still get my email and check all my websites that I love on my phone… until that took on a mind of its own. My phone began turning itself off and on over and over again! Ok, enough with the technology jokes, was someone or something out to get me this week? Both pieces of technology that i depend on everyday… broken? UGH!!
Now the phone was a different issue. I felt completely lost. I was disconnected from the world. My immediate family lives in Denver and I talk to them on a daily basis. No phone calls, no texts, and no emails. Luckily, my phone was covered under warranty and they sent out a brand new one that day… which would arrive within five business days. Oh, and on top of that… all phone numbers lost… or so I thought. Turns out, Google is smarter than I though. It had actually saved all of my phone numbers on my Gmail! So even though I lost everything on the phone…. I still had all my contacts. Disaster averted!
What a week! Here's to hoping next week goes a bit smoother… and a bit cheaper too!
