Most people think of their jobs as just work… you go in, work your typical 9am-5pm, and then go home.  Most people assume that everyone gets a few days off around the holidays to spend with friends and family.  Most people would not consider their coworkers as family…

Oh the joy of working in television… or really anyone working in an industry that is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years day are all just considered another day at the office.  The news and the weather never stop, not even for the holidays. 

It’s hard being away from home during the holidays but I have been lucky enough to join a news team that has taken it upon themselves to adopt me in as family.  Even though some of us have to work on the holidays, we are not forgotten by our coworkers, who have probably been in our shoes at some point in their career.

I’m looking forward to spending time with my new coworkers around the holiday season.  It’s an exciting time to be part of such an amazing station and surrounded by amazing people that really make me feel like family.

I hope everyone enjoys the holidays this year, whether it’s with friends or family, or in my case… new friends and family… it’s a great time of year!
