I am constantly amazed what stories draw the most readers on kake.com. This week it has been a short story about how the restaurant chain "Ted's Montana Grill" pulled out of Wichita and Kansas City. I would venture to guess the story had more readers than the restaurant had customers.
That got me to thinking, what's the story that gives you the "car wreck" effect? You know, the issue you can't help but look at, learn more about, no matter how trivial.
For the longest time Killer Bee stories fit the bill for me. Something about swarms of bees attacking people always drew my attention. It was amazing how many of the attacks were on people in Texas who were mowing their lawns. If I lived in the Lone Star State I would have hired a lawn service.
On the flip side there are stories that make you shout "enough already". I can tell the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton is going to be one of those stories. "Good Morning America" dedicated this morning's first 15 minutes to the couple in a special "Royal Edition". Will and Kate seem like a nice couple, but the coverage is overkill.
So, what is the story that has you begging for more and which story has you yelling "enough already"? Let me know.
