Little Paxten Pearson lost her courageous battle against leukemia Sunday.

In addition to holding a fundraiser tomorrow, the Valley Center community will honor the little girl.  The details are below;

 Please join us at Valley Center Lions Park on Tuesday, January 31st at 5:00pm to launch pink and blue balloons in honor of precious Paxten Pearson.

This will be an informal event allowing our community to come together and send messages and prayers to the Heavens for Paxten and her family.

The launch will take place as close to 5:00 pm as possible.

One of my jobs as a parent is to monitor my boys' online activities.   When I visit their online communities, Facebook can seem like an endless stream of Justin Bieber reviews and LMS notifications (i've come to learn LMS stands for Like My Status).  But recently,  i've seen many of their friends and classmates sending prayers and best wishes to a little girl in Valley Center, a girl many of them have never met.

Paxten Pearson was diagnosed with leukemia in December, 2010.  As i'm writing this, Paxten is in a Kansas City hospital undergoing two surgical procedures.

The "Prayers For Paxten" group (or P4P, as the kids call it),  has become a community effort in Valley Center.   Recently all the students at Abilene Elementary gathered for a group photo, all holding messages of encouragement & support for Paxten and her family.

Another community event is planned Tuesday, January 31, from 4-10:00 p.m.  The Pizza Huts in Valley Center and Park City will donate 20% of all proceeds to the Pearson family.

If you're on facebook, search Prayers for Paxten for more information.

On twitter, search #P4P

    I don't know how you do it. My prayers, and thoughts will be for you, your family, and most of all Paxten... I hope she makes it, I HATE seeing things like this, my heart sinks everytime. I don't understand it... Is there anyway I could donate?
