The other day I was speaking with a job candidate, and she asked "what is Wichita like"?  Trying to describe your hometown to someone who has never been there was more difficult than I thought. 

   The person I was speaking with is single and twenty-something.  In my brief description we talked about Wichita's role in aviation, the city's growing entertainment district and our proximity to some great cities including Kansas City and Dallas.

   In the end,  I reverted to my personal experiences.  I told her when I have hosted other twenty-somethings on recruiting trips to Wichita they told me the city had more to offer than they expected.  A larger city,  better restaurants, more things to do. 

   So, how do you describe Wichita to people who have never been here?  Where would you take them (hotels, restaurants, etc) to give them the best impressions of what Wichita has to offer?
