At 11:58pm, on February 16, 2009 KUPK analog, VHF channel 13, was switched off forever. At 11:58pm, on February 16, 2009 KUPK-DT 13.1 digital, UHF channel 18, was also switched off forever. At 12:01am, February 17, 2009 KUPK-DT 13.1 digital, VHF channel 13, returned to the air, on its permanent RF channel. Broadcasting 63kW of Effective Radiated Power from atop our tower in Haskell County, North-Northwest of Copeland, we cover more of Southwest Kansas than ever before. If you tried to view our free over-the-air UHF digital signal before February 16, 2009 and had trouble, please try again, now that we’re transmitting at full-power, on a VHF channel. Remember you’ll need either a DTV converter box, or a newer TV with a built-in ATSC tuner. The signal is on VHF RF channel 13. After your box, or TV, locks onto KUPK-DT the display will appear as 13.1, the virtual channel number. |
