Ok, so last night I decide to clean out my garage. I bought some shelving and started moving things around. Wow, I have a lot of stuff, but really who doesn't? Anyway, I picked up a bag of grass seed and there it was, a very large, and I'm talking LARGE, spider. It was black, the size of my hand. I'm not kidding or exaggerating either. First things first... SCREAM! then decide what to do. I had a broom in my hand, so I started beating the thing with it. I broke the broom, but the "tarantula" was still alive... that ugly, creepy, crawly creature was still moving. I had to take action. So I took the dust pan and beat it. I am a farm girl. I don't get freaked out by too much... but spiders, disgusting!
I've never heard of a tarantula in Kansas, but I swear that's what it was. Now, I can't stop thinking about it and wondering if there are some in my house! I'm going to be doing some research and I'm going to hire an exterminator ASAP!
