Yankees are champs again, you know what that means, New York New York will be played for a week straight in the Bronx, a ticker tape parade, and maybe now A-Rod can take the centaur self portraits of his ceiling since he finally has validation in the form of a championship ring and the fact he actually showed up in the series.

Also time to cue the same old whining and bitterness from Yankee haters. Oh the Yankees bought another one...Pretty easy to win with all that money. Blah blah whine whine whine. Yes, the yankees have had the highest payroll in baseball every year since 1999. How many championships have the won? Three. Winning in 1999, 2000, and again this year. So this must be true then right? Those damned yankees (not ted nugent's band), are buying championships. The numbers don't lie, but are they misleading??

The Philadelphia Phillies won last year in 2008 and were in the series again this year, so by the bitter fan logic they must have the 2nd highest payroll in baseball, right? Not quite, last year the Phillies had the 12th highest payroll and this year the ranked 7th. So what gives? They win last year and spend nearly $5 million more this year...Hmm weird. The top five this year were the Yankees, the Mets, the Tigers, Red Sox and the White Sox. So of course this must mean that all these teams were in the playoffs and battling it out at the end of the season in the playoffs. But only the Red Sox made the playoffs aside from the Yankees and they made a quick, easy exit in the first round this year.

However, I'm sure those bitter BoSox fans who would love to condemn the Bronx Bombers for their hefty cash capades each year are just stunned when they find out that the years the scarlet stockings won their two championships, they ranked #2 in payroll in the major leagues, behind the Yankees. So did they buy their championships too? Only seems to fair to say so.

Quit being bitter. Quit whining. Quit dogging the Yankees. Or at least come up with a better issue to cry about!  Be original. Do you need to talk about it? Would it make you feel better to vent about how evil the Yankees are and would it make you feel better about yourself to get it all out? Well lucky for you there is a little box down below just for you to do so. Knock yourself out! No really, literally knock yourself out. Whining doesn't help anything.  You're better off being unconscious.  Besides, I think with all the global warming crack pots out there we have to listen to enough whining on a daily basis for all of us, thanks Al Gore!

So with all that extra info at your disposal let me just say. Go Yankees! Congrats. And to Boston, ha, ha......and ha!
