Here are the ingredients for a burger is recently made at home called, the goober.  I saw the burger on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel and decided I would give it a try.

You take a burger, grill it up, and while its still warm put a layer of peanut butter on top.  Next put down your piece of cheese.  Finally add a good sized dollop of mayonnaise and the top of the bun.

Yes it sounds horrid.  Yes it sounds like it would never be a decent combination even if those ingredients were all in separate dishes.

But trust me, its good.  For some reason the saltiness of the peanut butter goes great with the burger and the mayonnaise.  I know only weird Canadians like Duda put mayo on their burgers but this is worth trying.  Not to mention you already probably have all the ingredients in your house.

Get out your Foreman grill and see what ya think.

I prefer ONLY mayonaise on my burgers! Going river-rafting today and planning on suprising my company w/these afterwards. And yeah, I don't think they put cheese on the burger in the episode...

Here in the US, at least in Indiana, we love mayo on our burgers! I tried a dollop of peanut butter today, and I have to say, it's great!

I love bizzare foods and I've been dying to try the goober. I also saw another version of it on Man VS Food with a fried egg as well as PB :) Though I've always eaten mayo on my burgers, I didn't realize that wasn't normal in other parts of the country :P

I've been eating peanut butter with lots of sandwiches for years. I started with PB and American Cheese, but often spread it on the bread with my turkey, roast beef, chicken. Spread it on your wrap too. I'll be trying it on my next burger mixed with a little mayo!

I saw that segment on Bizarre Foods. I didn't notice that they added cheese! I tried it without and it was amazing - just like the mayonnaise and peanut butter sandwiches my mom used to make.
