End of an Era

The enigma wrapped in mystery draped in wit and shrouded in sarcastic drier than wheat toast humor known as Dave Phillips is leaving OTL and KAKE TV.

Not since Brett Favre retired (maybe) has the sports world had to endure losing such an icon.  After years of inching slowly toward that Mendoza line of mediocrity Dave decided to hang up his TV spikes and spend time with the family and watch KU from the couch instead of the sidelines.

We all will truly miss his humor and personality here at the station.  I have never met a person that didn't have a conversation with Phillips that they walked away thinking he was one of the funniest people they had encountered.  Good man good friend.  OTL may never be the same!

So in order to help us send off Dave in style I am asking that you write in and tell us your favorite Dave Phillips moments, well wishes and even a good riddance for all those in Mizzou and Power Cat Nation.

Who will give high fives and bring in the Rock Star energy drinks now that both Dave and James are gone? Secretly we all know that indoor soccer is making a come back and Dave will be back on top of the Wichita sports scene before long.
