Sept. 14 Apparently, some people thought I was a little harsh on how I viewed the Chiefs efforts in Sunday's game versus Baltimore. So, I thought I'd go a little more in-depth as to why I felt how I felt in a blog because during an 8 minute "Shout Out" segment there isn't much time to go into detail on each aspect of the game.... especially with the four of us up there trying to get our opinions across. Starting off, I'd like to say I thought the Chiefs played very hard against a Super Bowl contending team, never giving up despite being down multiple times during the game. They did a few nice things on the field too, such as Croyle not getting hurt (amazing, I know) and playing fairly well, Derrick Johnson's pick and Succop's long FG. But honestly.... that was about it. Here is a statement I'd like to talk about from last night's OTL: "The Chiefs offense scored 24 points against the awesome Baltimore Defense!" Yes, the "Chiefs" scored 24 points, but it wasn't due to the offense driving down the field against the Ravens Defense. 7 came from Jon McGraw blocking a punt. 7 came thanks to Derrick Johnson running his INT back inside the 10 and.... honestly, every NFL Offense should be able to get in the endzone after that, and 3 came from Succops 53 yard FG. So, after all that we get to 7 points from the offense in which they did all the work... maybe 10 if we take into consideration that the FG was set up by a great 50 yard grab by Bradley. ---- I didn't really know how much Brandon Flowers meant to this team until sunday when Maurice Leggett was picked on by Flacco and the Ravens WRs all game. Leggett might be a nice nickelback, but he certainly cannot be counted on as a starting outside corner anymore this season. ---- Our Defensive line is horrendous. And when I say "horrendous" I mean "worst in the NFL". Joe Flacco routinely had 5+ seconds to throw the ball, and in the NFL that's similar to the time it takes to cook a turkey on Thanksgiving..... also known as: forever. The offensive line isn't any better either... possibly one of the worst in the NFL as well. Our leading rusher had 20 yards and Brodie Croyle had zero time to throw the ball and was getting knocked down left and right. I'm surprised he didn't break in half during the game on Sunday. ---- Finally, here are my grades for the Chiefs this past Sunday: Running game: F Our leading rusher had 20 yards. Enough said. Passing game: B Croyle found the openings when they were there, they just weren't there very much thanks to the..... Offensive line: F Croyle was getting up off the ground probably 60% of the time. We only have 2 starting OLinemen that would play for another team in the NFL. Run Defense: F We couldn't stop anything at all. Willis and Ray ran all over us like Steve Prefontaine. Reminded me of last season.... Pass Defense: F Joe Flacco and the Ravens threw for more than 300 yards against us, that isn't good. Also, Maurice Leggett is not a shut down corner, please come back fast Brandon Flowers. Special Teams: B+ Nice blocked kick by McGraw and great FG by Succop, but the return game isn't there. Probably why we signed Bobby Wade. Overall: D+ Some good things, but overall it isn't a passing effort. I'm tired of watching a loser and I'm not going to be satisfied with moral victories anymore. "Playing hard" just isn't enough for me anymore.

Good wrap up. I'd grade about the same.
