It's finally happened. According to the KC Star, Carl Peterson is resigning as General Manager of the Chiefs. After a 20 year reign he has finally decided to step down and I couldn't be any more excited. This is a Christmas present come early! Fantastic! From kcstar.com: “On behalf of my family and the entire Kansas City Chiefs organization, I want to thank Carl for his two decades of service to the Chiefs,” Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said. “Both Carl and I agreed that immediately initiating the search for the next Chiefs general manager would be the best thing for the future of the organization, and he will be resigning following the 2008 season.’’

The Chiefs will be searching for the next GM immediately but who is it going to be? I'll do some research and see if I can't come up with something. Check back frequently for updates regarding this awesome news.

WOO-HOO!! I am sure almost everyone is happy about this. I wonder if Carl knew how much fans wanted him gone? Kansas City should have a parade and celebrate. I do hope they keep Herm another year, though.
