We've already received reports of more than a foot of snowfall in much of Western Kansas, even up to 2 feet near Liberal!  Whiteout conditions have closed highways from Hutchinson Garden City.  Unfortunately, the worst is yest to come for Wichita and South Central Kansas tonight and Saturday morning.

So we want to know what it's like where you live.  Tell us in the comment section and we'll post it on this blog for everyone to see.

Count on the KAKEland WeatherPlex for continuous updates until the storm has moved out of the area.

Blake

WOW!! For Park City being "Dee's Town" you would think they would of been better at servicing their roads. But yet again they call it "Dee's Town" for a reason!!!

11:30pm Saturday..lost power about midnight last night..on for a short while then off all day until just a short while ago..love your KAKE First Alert..we are only one mile out of Greenwood Cty into Woodson County and are not considered in your "viewing area"..but Joplin reports are kind of 'after the fact' when it comes to severe weather..ice on everything, and roughly 20 power poles down on Hwy 54 between here West towards Eureka..broken off roughly half way up..what a mess. Anyway, keep up the good work..love your reporting..good job!

My 4wd got stick in my driveway here in Hutchinson. I got it unstuck after a lot of digging. I was trying to get a family member to work. After I got it out, I put it back in the garage. I heard on the radio that even the snow plows are getting stuck along with fire trucks and ambulances.

Posted by: Karin Location: Park City
I have no idea how much snow we got but my car, which I stupidly parked in the driveway last night instead of the garage is stuck. I can't even get out of the driveway because the snow and ice are completely packed up to the underside of my car. My husband had to go to work this morning and said that on Hydraulic, most cars wouldn't make it. He has 4-wheel drive and it was even hard for him. Why oh why, does the city NEVER plow or sand/salt Hydraulic???

11:30 a.m. Here in Valley Center it has been snowing for about two hours now with approximately three inches on the ground but with the wind blowing, it makes it hard to measure. Moderate to heavy snow is now falling. I just wish I had put the fertizer down last week...

All rain here

Posted by: Mary Location: Haysville
Heavy snow here covering the ice we received overnight. Gosh, I love spring!

Blake, i am your neighbor here in Park City. i see that there is no traffic on our streets. the one car that tried got stuck and back up in his tracks and went back home. the drifts are high in the streets and it is insane to try to get out unless you have a four wheel drive pickup. thanks for your coverage. hope you can get home soon and get a good night's sleep. diane

Heavy snow continues. Near whiteout conditions due to strong winds. Tree branches are ice-coated...

Posted by: Michael Location: Mulvane,Ks
Mulvane had heavy snow right now... so it looked like more than 6 inches of snow...

Posted by: Michael Location: N. East Wichita
We have sleet and light snow at 9:15 AM. Tree limbs down in our area.

Posted by: dan Location: northern end of McPherson
Just woke up and I'm watching a snow plow get stuck in a snowdrift in front of our house. It's still snowing pretty hard. I saw that on a story on this site that McPherson had received 8" as of 5am and I think it's safe to say we've received more since that report. My car is buried in a drift. Thankfully we've still got power!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Kingman
Have at least 2' of snow here if not more. Snowing heavy now. Cars are buried. Highways closed down going out of kingman. Its bad! Be careful out there everyone!!!

Posted by: Dan Location: northern end of McPherson
Just woke up and am watching one of the city's snow plows getting stuck in the snow drifts.

Posted by: Jody Location: Park City
looks like we dodged the bad stuff! Just a bit of ice and snow...not even that cold!

Posted by: Susan Location: Augusta
There are lots of tree limbs down, some as big as 5-6" diameter. We've had electricity blink and heard at least one transformer blow.

60 degrees! on tuesday

4" of snow and currently receiving freezing rain/sleet mix!

Posted by: Lynn Location: Wichita
How can you tell how much snow has actually fallen so far? I can never find that information. Use the airport as the location. Thanks -

1" of snow so far Still Snowing very hard.

Posted by: Donna Location: Sumner county, 7 miles west of ark city
It has been raining and sleeting since noon. The trees are sagging and breaking, I hope it stops soon. It is a icy soggy mess.

Posted by: jackie Location: derby
As of 9:28 p.m. we have rain mixed with sleet in Derby

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Sublette, Ks
Time is 8:20 p.m. Still snowing and blowing! Snow is lighter now and wind is not quite as bad but is still quite strong. Visibility is now at 1/4 mile down to 1/4 mile or less but is getting better by the hour. Snow totals look to be 12-15 inches but very hard to tell because of the fierce winds. I can say we have A LOT of snow, about 10x more than we have recieved all winter! All roads still closed and don't even think about driving anywhere tonight!

Posted by: Blake Location: KAKE
We've finally transitioned over to snow here at the station (13th and West)... quick 1/4 inch in past 10 minutes

Posted by: Janet Location: Plains
Friday, 7:31 pm. Still snowing, not as heavy. Am guessing we have at least 15 inches. Nice drifts too.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Between Pawnee&Meridian & 31st S & Meridian
Heavy sleet

Posted by: Jim Location: Kingman
The radar has been showing what looks like very heavy snow for Kingman, but it has been sleeting since 12:30.

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Sublette, Ks
Looks like at least 12" of snow, but hard to tell, wind is very strong, blizzard conditions all day. Drifts up to 5-6 feet but am not able to get out to see much. Visibility is about 1/8 mile or complete whiteout. All roads are closed.

Posted by: Sam Location: Eureka
Please put the time on the posts so we can tell what is happening & when. Thanks

Posted by: Blake Location: KAKE
Thanks, let us know your location.

Posted by: Susan Location: United States
Valley Center - sleeting like mad. Approx. 1" on the ground

Posted by: Heath Location: Hutchinson
Roads are slick. Snow continuing to fall.

Posted by: Kari Location: Hutchinson
The snow is really coming down. Visibility is only about a 1-2 blocks. I have already seen people sliding all over and 2 accidents. Everyone needs to be careful.

Posted by: Dennis Brown Location: 47th South and Meridian
Heavy Sleet or Freezing Rain. Picking up now even more than it was. Sounds like pellets hitting the windows.
