Christmas brings both joy and ache to the Holman Family. Former major league pitcher Brian Holman remembers his daughter Kassidy the most around this time of year. Kassidy died after a battle with leukemia in July of 2006, but Christmas was her favorite time of the year. That's why each year the Holmans open up their home to help the fight against leukemia and lymphoma. On Saturday December 20th, the Holman Family will host their annual Open House to raise money for the Kansas Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Kassidy's Christmas Open House will run from 10 am until 8 pm at the Holman's home in Goddard. Just go to the Holman house during that time and you could take home some great baseball gifts with all the proceeds benefiting leukemia and lymphoma research. The Holman's live at 20411 W. 13th Street N. in Goddard. On Saturday, they will open up their home. It only costs ten dollars at the door and raffle tickets for autographed baseball items are only one dollar. If you have the means, please help. Brian Holman frequently hosts events for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and he would love it if you can help preserve his daughter's memory at this special time. |
