Five months from today, I'm getting hitched, tying on the old ball and chain, taking the plunge, buying the cow, tying the knot...okay, you get my drift.

I think about all the sayings people have for getting married, and it makes me laugh.

I also think about how much pressure people say it is to plan a wedding, and that makes me laugh as well.

Yes, I have a location selected (the beach...a dream location for me and my fiance). We have the food picked out (man, that stuff is expensive). The boys have their suits in hand. Our photographer and DJ will be there. One of my best friends will be singing as we say, "I do." I have some decor items I've picked up along the way.

Here's what I don't have done. I've looked at dresses on-line, but haven't tried on a single dress in a store. I haven't officially chosen my bridesmaids dresses. I haven't made the wedding invites. I have no idea what my centerpieces will look like. I haven't chosen a bakery to make the cake. I would like to schedule other important things, but for some things, it's still too early to get it done in advance.

Does this stress me out that my "haven't done" list is longer than my "checked off my list" list? Nope.

Unlike most of my friends and family, I'm very laid back. I have the mindset that whatever is going to happen, will happen. Whatever is meant to be, will be. (I think this actually stresses out most of my family!)

So, even though I only have less than five months now to get everything pulled together, I guess it could maybe wait until tomorrow, or the next day.

After all, isn't a wedding all about the moment when you pledge your life to be shared with another, while surrounded by those you love, who get to witness such a beautiful moment?

To me, the rest are just details...details no one will remember five, ten, even thirty years from now.
