Bad Drivers Make Me Sick, Literally

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on this one. I'm not a fan of bad drivers.

My Dad always tells me I have road rage, but then again, I think I just don't have very much patience for people who clearly should never have passed their written or driving exam. (I also think my Dad's used to driving in rural Nebraska, where the only issues he may have on the road is once a week meeting a car on a gravel road.) :)

Now, back to the issue at hand.

I think some drivers need to take it slow, and think about other people on the road.

Several times a week, I find myself in the passenger seat, next to a driver I would consider one of these people.

Said driver puts the pedal to the metal, cuts people off, takes curves really fast, and definitely has road rage against the drivers who have just been cut off.

Often times, I find myself getting sick to my stomach, just being in the same vehicle with a bad driver.

I know we live in a rushed world, where everyone is always in a hurry, all the time.

Just think about all the accidents that happen because some driver thought it was all about him/herself, and didn't look out for the other person on the road.

Take Kellogg for example. Look at how many accidents happen every year on Kellogg, just because people find it necessary to weave in and out, cutting people off, trying to beat another car to the nearest exit.

I'm not saying we should all drive like that granny who holds up traffic in her old, slow Buick. I am saying, maybe it's time we all slow down a bit, and realize the roads were built for us all.

Be courteous of those on the road next to you. Even more, think about the passenger that needs a brown paper sack each time he/she rides with you.

Anyone else agree with me? I'd love to hear your comments!

My problem with Wichita drivers is that they do not pay attention. I have lived in much bigger cities (Los Angeles & St. Louis), and I have never seen as bad a drivers as I have in Wichita. I was never afraid to get in a car in those cities, but I am here. What's more is that I believe Wichita has way more accidents per capita than Los Angeles and St. Louis combined!

I agree. I hate riding passenger because of the driver driving crazy for the same reasons as you listed. I also think that old people should have to take a driving test every year after a certain year of age. I find a lot of old people a driving hazard. Either they are driving extremely slow like 10 under or they don't pay attention and come close to hitting me because they aren't staying in their lane. I also HATE when people are riding my butt when I'm going the speed limit and maybe even going 5 mph over on a highway.. slow down and take your time before you cause an accident.

I so agree with you, these folks should leave earlier so they don't have to put others in danger just because they are in a hurry. And the tail gators are the same way. Drive right or stay off the road

I completely disagree. Go to any major city and you'll see that they don't drive like we do. What do they do? THEY GO FAST. Wichita is one of, if not the ONLY "big" city that I've been to that drives slower than any other. I'm so tired of having to go 5 under the speed limit because everyone else is too afraid to push the gas pedal. I'm not a crazy driver, I'm just on board with the rest of this country. Kansans in general don't like to progress and get with the big picture.
