Last year at this time all the hype was fun.  Will he or won't he? 

Brett Favre is a legend to a generation...and in his own right, but Brett I'm done with you.  See you in Canton. 

If that sounds harsh to you than I guess that means your inbox hasn't been flooded with meaningless "Favre Watch" texts.

I get ESPN MVP on my phone, which means when there's breaking news in my favorite world, the sports world, I am first to know.  It's a great feature to have and one reason why my phone has a permanent home in my pocket.  But this week I about cancelled my subscription.

"Brett Favre to possibly meet with the Vikings."

"Brett Favre to meet with the Vikings."

"Favre's agent says he will not meet with the Vikings."

"Favre met with the Vikings."

And then I got this one that made me throw my phone, literally.

"Brett Favre saw a physician regarding shoulder pains."

Perfect.  Just perfect.  These texts coupled with Rachel Nichols hourly reports from Mississippi make me almost embarrassed to be in sports journalism.

Brett I love you.  But I'm going to say it again.  See you in Canton.  I'm done with you.
