Dozens of Boeing Wichita employees recieved WARN notices today.
A Boeing spokesperson says nearly 80 employees received the 60-day notices today.
The notices are part of the 800 job cuts announced by Boeing at this time last year. Spokesperson Jarrod Bartlett estimates 400-500 of the 800 job cuts have been made.
Bartlett said the cuts were made because some defense work is winding down and hasn't been replaced by other contracts.
The WARN notices affect both salary and hourly employees.
