One of Barack Obama's advisers says the
remarks she made about Hillary Rodham Clinton were "inexcusable."

Samantha Power resigned from her post as a foreign policy
adviser in the Obama campaign today after apologizing for calling
Clinton a "monster."

Power was quoted in a Scottish newspaper today, even though she
tried to keep it from appearing in print by saying that it was
"off the record."

The remark was then picked up by U.S. media.

Power says her comments are a departure from her "oft-stated
admiration" for Clinton, as well as from the "spirit, tenor and
purpose of the Obama campaign."

Shortly before Power stepped down, the Clinton campaign held a
conference call with several of Clinton's congressional supporters
calling for Power to be fired.

Clinton's spokesman noted that Clinton aides have been removed
in the past for comments they made about Obama.

what's wrong with telling it like it is?

I think this is so stupid. What--just because you work for a political candidate, you are no longer entitled to state your opinions? Does she not have her freedom of speech any longer? Our world is too politically correct nowdays. I don't know why people get so blown out of proportion over a silly little comment. She's not the only person in the world who thinks that Hillary Clinton is a monster, and yet she just lost her job over it. If the very people who are supposed to be protecting our constitutional freedoms and rights are firing their own employees for speaking their opinions, then what on earth makes them think I'll trust them with MY freedoms and rights? So she said Clinton was a monster. Big deal. Hillary's a big girl. I think she can handle that. She's been called worse.

Such childish fighting, I guess I expected more from 2 Democratic contenders--I think the USA is going to be in a world of hurt no matter who becomes president and no better off than we are now.
