Kansas Republican Caucus Results Save Email Print

A | A | A

Mike Huckabee comfortably won today's Kansas Republican presidential caucuses.

The former Arkansas governor picked up many conservatives' support despite rival candidate John McCain's status as the presumed GOP nominee.

Final results showed Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor,
with 60 percent, compared to 24 percent for McCain, the Arizona
senator. Texas Congressman Ron Paul had 11 percent.

Huckabee captured all 36 of the delegates to the Republican National Convention from Kansas. Another three delegates are party leaders who attend the convention no matter whom they support. Two have endorsed McCain.

No we don't Jim, most people have to fight to pay the bills and keep food on the table, explain to me how all 70% of America who hates where this country is going all can afford that. We have a lot less freedom than you'd think. Every huckster i talked to yesterday had no clue where he stood on the issues aside from abortion. No one knew that while he cut taxes 90 times in Arkansas he also increased government spending, and that when he left the taxpayers were paying a lot MORE than when he entered. He lies about his record and what does Kansas do when finally given the chance to matter? We blindly follow the 'christian candidate' without realizing there was someone who acts on their beliefs as well. Ask Norma McCorvey who she endorses for president,oh wait, half the hucksters I talked to thought she was dead. Wake up guys. Look into the issues, our next four years may be lost, but we still have a duty to put into congress/senate/etc those who have actually read the constitution.WAKE UP.

It's sad that Kansans voted for more war and government via McCain than a smaller government and sound money via Ron Paul. Pauls stand on abortion is even firmer than Hucksters, but due to the blessing of evangelical churches the Huckster won. Huckabee does not agree with bringing our troops home to take care of ourselves, or what this nation was founded on (the constitution).

I feel like I wasted my time this morning at the Republican Caucus because Kansas is still in the Bible Belt.

Kansas has made the right move. Huck will be better than McCain.

I find it a sad commentary on the media - Mike Huckabee wins all of the KS delegates, and all they can spare him is a mere 7 sentences. Proves to me how extreemly biased the media is! Thank goodness that there are people in this state that are still thinking for themselves instead of letting others do it for them!

I like what Huckabee stands for. He seems to understand the uncompromising values that have made this nation great from the beginning.
